Saba® makes you feel #CómodaContigo.

It’s very likely that throughout our lives we’ll have different sexual partners, so it’s important to know the risks and how to protect ourselves. In this article, we explain everything you need to know about it.

In previous articles, we have talked about the importance of using a condom, since it’s the only birth control method that protects us from STDs and from unwanted pregnancies at the same time. So it’s vital to always use it, especially if you have several sexual partners.

It’s important to visit your gynecologist regularly for check-ups and to make sure everything is in order. Keep in mind that there are many sexually transmitted diseases that don’t present symptoms until a long time, and this puts your health at risk.

These are some of the risks of having multiple unprotected sexual partners:

  • Candidiasis: It isn’t considered an STD, but at the same time, it’s transmitted through unprotected sexual intercourse. It’s caused by the fungus Candida Albicans, which is normally found in the vagina without causing any discomfort. However, when it reproduces, it causes itching and whitish discharge.
  • Chlamydia: It’s an infection caused by the bacterium Chlamydia Trachomatis. It manifests itself with inflammation of the urinary tract, throat, and rectum.
  • Gonorrhea: Causes swelling in the genitals and rectum, and in some cases, blood infection, arthritis, meningitis (inflammation of certain parts of the brain), and urinary tract conditions.
  • Genital Herpes: There are two main types of simple herpes virus: the one that’s usually related to sores or swelling in or around the mouth and lips, and the one that injures the genitals, causing inflammation of the vagina (vaginitis) and painful ulcers that affect the vulva and penis. It’s common to have fever, fatigue, and discharges from the urinary tract.
  • AIDS: AIDS is the last stage of HIV infection, which is transmitted through sperm, vaginal secretions, blood, and the mother's womb. This disease affects the immune system and thus the ability to fight diseases.
Remember that it is very important to be responsible with our sexuality for our health and the health of others.
